News For and About LDS Singles

  • 10/21/06   Beware of web scams.

Over the past couple of years, there have been numerous stories in the news and otherwise talking about Internet scams involving people claiming to need help, typically associating themselves with organizations in Nigeria among other places. These scams are perpetrated through email, web links, and sites all over the Internet. While these scams are typically easy to spot, and are simple to avoid, please be aware that they exist and to never give out personal information unless you are 100% sure of who you are communicating with. If people ask for large sums of money, even if they sound genuine, that is usually a red light.

For more information on how this potential problem effects online dating communities, see this link.
